Warning.....picture heavy

First up presents:
1: License Renewal --$74 ( mandatory present to myself)

2: Presents from daughter: She knows her mother all too well.

I can't seem to get gauge, but we'll keep going or die trying.

3: Why is it that black cats are always attracted to white wool?

Really he's no help.

He really is cute, but a pain in the A%&*!

4: Mystery Stole 3 blocked and ready to wear.

I wasn't really sure about this pattern once I got to the wing part. But now that it's done I think I love the wing part the most.

Pattern: Mystery Stole 3: Swan Lake

Yarn: Jagger Spun 50% merino, 50% silk

Needles: Addi Lace needles 3.5mm

It's so very light and airy and it just makes me want to knit more shawls. Maybe this one or this one.
Knitting: PRICELESS!

Self protrait....

Samantha started a meme. She wants a self portrait. I don't do pictures unless absolutely necessary. So here goes.......... I give you Paula Red. I love September, fall is in the air, the first apples of the season come out and all I can think about is knitting.
I also received these lovely stitch markers from Alisha, one of her monthly blog contest. They are so cute! Thanks Alisha.

And yesterday I joined a new KAL. Fingerless Mitts for Fall. This one's a piece of cake compared to Mystery Shawl 3, which I'm blocking the wing end now.

Knitting shall commence now........

Socks & Mitts.....

It's been a productive weekend. The weather cooled right down so I got into the wool room and tidied up a little bit. I have got a lot of knitting to do.

This weekend I finished up Mr. "D's" socks. They've been hanging out in my carry around knitting bag for quite a while now, they only get knit on when we're out driving around.
Pattern: Gentleman's Plain Winter Sock from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks

Yarn: Trekking XXL colour 62

Needles: 2.5mm bamboo

The only modifications I made were the heel. I knit my usual slip st heel.

I also made another pair of fingerless mitts for the farm. I modified the Fetching pattern, knit a thumb gusset and added stitches for a DK weight yarn.
Let me know if your interested and I'll write out my pattern and post it later.
I'm starting a headband of my own design too.

MS3 and Knitty.........

My Mystry stole 3 (aka: Swan Lake) is ready to block. I love the feathery pattern on the wing.
New Knitty is up! There are some really nice patterns this season.
Now I'm off to finish some acessories for the farm .
And if you hang in long enough you can hear the new single from Seether...Fake it!

My girl........

I didn't get to go to the Knitter's Fair on Saturday, but I did get to spend the day with the best flower girl in the world. Gramma loves ya, Miss "P".

Guild night....

Tuesday night was a great turn out. We had some new faces and had a nice evening of introductions and show and tell of what we accomplished over the summer.

Next month were having a yarn auction, everyone is bringing some yarn, needles or books and all procedes will be donated to the Cancer Society.
And in November, Maureen Mason Jamieson will be joining us.
If anyone is interested in joining us you can find the information at our guild blog.

Kristin brought along my Kauni yarn. I think I'll be cake winding this week-end but I'm not sure when I'll be starting this sweater up. Too much on my plate right now.

I finished off Julie's shrug for the K-W Knitter's Fair tomorrow. I can only take credit for the ribbed band and the blocking. Julie knit the main piece.

You should feel this yarn ! Dream in Color, 100% superwash merino. Incredible!

My reward. Brand new Opal sock yarn, and fresh off the tree Paula Red apples. First of the season. I love Fall!

It's not easy being green...

You Are a Green Crayon

Your world is colored in harmonious, peaceful, natural colors.
While some may associate green with money, you are one of the least materialistic people around.
Comfort is important to you. You like to feel as relaxed as possible - and you try to make others feel at ease.
You're very happy with who you are, and it certainly shows!

Your color wheel opposite is red. Every time you feel grounded, a red person does their best to shake you.
Dead ON!
